July 25th, 2009, Nader & Lesly abdelsayed

Nader who happen to be from my home country, Egypt was here with his lovely wife Cindy, from Vegas. Our first attempt to leave the marina was aborted with heavy rain. So we came back to the dock and had some refreshments and visited withe each other, then there was a lull, and Cindy decided to go for it. I invited Joseph who is here from France to come aboard as a crew. I have to admit that my guests and my crew really made the best out of what many Miami ans will consider foul weather. Nader said we really like the rain, we don't get any in Vegas. Several times we experience zero wind, then the wind pics up to 20, or 25 knots, amazing weather conditions. thanks to RA and Joseph and the gentle nature of Biscayne Bay, we all had a great heavy weather sailing experience. here is what Cindy wrote in the log
" What a beautiful excursion. We had some rain and clouds, even the wind was quiet and then pumped up to 25 knots! It was graceful and beautiful. Gorgeous boat, beautiful harbor and scenery and wonderful people, Thanks so much, we loved it! Cindy and Nader"

July 24th. 2009, Carrie Zack & Friends

Carrie Zack , who is an event and a lifestyle Planner,was here from California staring her business in the area. She wanted to see what Miami really has to offer. She suggested organizing a promotional outing aboard the RA, on Biscayne Bay. I also invited Jessica and Rodrigo who is celebrating his 40th Birthday. Richard and Jeile of Go Live Miami were aboard and did some great Video. It was the first time for Maribel Rivera of the Miami Herald to go sailing, My daughter Isis was also on board. She and Jeile were class mates, what a coincidence.
We did have some good weather, and we really timed it well, as the rain started right after we docked the boat.

July 15th. 2009, Mike & lapaix, Ivory Coast visitors

Francois, the chief Concierge of the Conrad Hotel suggested to mike to take a ride on our great Biscayne Bay. The weather was just wonderful. I also invited my friend Leslie to come aboard as a first mate. It was really great that Leslie came because she gave them a lot of tips of places to go and clubs and restaurants for them to check out. We thought that Lapaix is a model, but she is actually studying Law in Paris, while Mike is studying marketing in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Here is what Lapaix wrote in the log:

July 12th. 2009, Alan Kaplan

It has been a long time since I had Allan aboard. He invited a few friends but no one showed up. So we ended up just he and I. He wanted to spend all day on the water. It was indeed a beautiful day , so we sailed, under full sail thru key Biscayne channel all the way to Fowey Rocks light and back thru the houses of stilts Ville.

July 7th. 2009, Felipe & the bees

My good friend Felipe Vidal, had his Friend Raul visiting him from New york City. He wanted to treat him to a special day on Biscayne Bay. So Felipe brought his 8 year old daughter Valeria along. The wind was moderate, we sailed out of the channel with Wind from the south west. Once in the bay we had up to 20 Knots of wind we had the jib and the mizzen up and the boat really went. It was really exhilarating. Couple hours later the wind just totally died and a very unusual phenomena occurred. I have been sailing for almost 30 years on different bodies of water never saw such a phenomena. A large swarm of bees surrounding the vessel and swarming on the drum of the roller furling jib.
Right in the middle of the bay. what were these bees doing here. This created some concern and excitement on the part of young Valeria. She said she will be the only one in her school who have experienced bees on the bay. Her dad Felipe got busy taking pictures and close ups of the bees.

July 4th. 2009, Pat & Stacy Morris

It was America' Birthday and John Pew's Birth day too, Stacy's Dad. The birth day Gentleman and his wife Sut came from North Carolina, His brother Dick and his wife sue came from Boston. Stacy and Pat brought the children Ellie and Brian to celebrate both birthdays aboard the sailing vessel RA in the middle of Biscayne Bay and watch the Fire works celebrating Her Dad's 80th. It was a great evening, with gentle breeze. We raised three sails and sailed to the middle of the bay until dark. We were situated off Key Biscayne where we had a first class seat to watch the spectacular show that they displayed. The fire works were really great. One of the best I have ever observed.Every body enjoyed the show and the sailing, here is what they wrote in the log:
