November 8th, 2009, Abe& penny winter
Penny who just completed her ASA sailing certification wanted to get some experience. Abe who was referred to me by My friend Lily contacted me and decided to charter the RA for a few hours. We scheduled it for Sunday. The weather man was predicting a small craft Advisory with wind in the 30 Knot range . Abe and Penny were concerned and asked me If I would cancel the sail. I told them that Biscayne Bay is one of the few places in the world where 30 Knots of wind could be a great day to sail since it does not build heavy Seas. Also the RA is a very heavy and seaworthy vessel and have a unique rig to accommodate for such weather conditions.
I also invited my friend Valerie and her son Kyon,Also My friend Michelle Villalobos came along.
Here is what they wrote in the log:
"Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your crew. You are a great Captain. I hope we will have more great sailing times! All the best, Penny Winter"
Thank you for a lovely time! although the wind was really blowing hard, the ride was smooth and effortless, You are a great Captain, Best, Michelle Viallalobos"
"What a wonderful ride!, What an adventure!! thank you captain for having us aboard again, Love, Valerie & Kyon"
